Love, Love, Love

by on Aug.31, 2010, under Poetry

This is a poem I wrote a couple of weeks ago (Week of Aug.16, 2010) during a time of much confusion both in my heart and my life, trying to figure out how I could make the best of a particular situation, with really no direction to turn.  That confusion was eventually put into words, but I held off on posting this until I was through the situation, since I did not want to put the subject of the poem on the spot with my craptastic poetry. =)

Love, Love, Love
by Michael Morris

How can I say these words
Without causing you to run
Is the thought that haunts my dreams tonight
Far from the eyes of the watchful sun

For fear sits beside me
I fear the pain if I move too fast
Swept away by my beating heart
But something says this will last

But in the same thought
I fear losing you to time
Cause one doesn’t get many chances
When love is on the line

My heart feels this one is true
A chance to try for love anew
Perfection found in the sands of time
To mend this shattered heart of mine

Thus I am forced to find
A way to walk this line
Showing you how I feel
Without drowning you in this love of mine

A miracle of fate
Brought your path in synchronicity with mine.
Two lovers, given another chance
By the loving hand of time

Love, Love, Love
A simple word for something true
Love, Love, Love
The words I want to say to you.
